Wabanaki (wah-bah-nah-kee) refers to the Indigenous tribes from northeastern Canada and the United States. The name comes from the word for "dawn", as our nations are the original caretakers of the land where the sun first touches Turtle Island (North America).

We are the People of the Dawn Apothecary. Our studio is located in Wabanaki Territory on Indian Island. Our name describes both our place here and our relationship with the natural world.

Our ways of healing are rooted in land-based knowledge and community. These teachings have been carried across generations. We learn from our Elders, our aunties, our grandmothers, and from the medicines themselves.

We honor these teachings with every batch we make. We use sacred plants like sweetgrass, cedar, and sage with intention. We use natural herb ingredients as medicine, as tradition, and as a continuation of our culture.

Whether you are Native or not, we invite you here to honor the medicines and the land they come from.
